The joys, the challenges of raising kiwi kids when you grew up somewhere very different. This creative mothers group brings play, laughter, story-telling and story making to the complex job of parenting.

Age on Stage

Sharing our Kaupapa

In recent months we’ve been busy speaking about the why, how and who of our work. We co-presented with the Department of Corrections at a youth development conference in Wellington and at drama in education conference in Auckland. It’s a privilege to share our passion for the work and to explain its success.

Language learning through adaptive Improv

Improv and theatre based play activities are an active and joyful way to learn language and to understand culture and society. With this project we are at play with refugee background and new migrant students at two high schools in Wellington. Participation is effortless, joyful and developmental!

Play and Performance around the world

Our Artistic Director, Nicola Pauling, is the first New Zealander to graduate from the New York based, East Side Institute’s International Class Programme for advanced practitioners.  The programme focuses on performance as development, activism and enabler of social change and looks at projects, practitioners and best practice around the world.

Suffrage in Stitches

We are delighted to be once again partnering with Wellington Museum on a new project celebrating 125 years of Suffrage.  This is another wonderful three-way partnership for Voice Arts, working for the first time with Re Sew Wellington.  We will be facilitating and documenting women deep in crucial conversation as they work to recreate the Suffrage petition in cloth.
